MANKATO — While the potential spring flood risk remains high, there is mostly good news in the latest outlook from the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen. The outlook released Thursday is mostly unchanged from two weeks ago. There is little precipitation expected through the rest of the month. And the slow melt experienced in recent weeks — with temperatures in the upper 30s to mid 40s during the day and usually dropping below freezing at night — helps reduce the risk. The snowpack in the Greater Mankato area is at about 6-8 inches, with a high water content in the snow.
