MANKATO — School resource officers will resume their work on Mankato Area Public Schools campuses similar to previous years starting on Monday, the district and city of Mankato announced in a news release Friday. The news release stated that teams recently received guidance for officers and that they are encouraged that the Minnesota Legislature recognizes the need for more clarity on the topic but hope there is more discussion during the next session. School resource officers have not been on Mankato district campuses since the first week of school as teams impacted looked to clarify language in this year's education omnibus bill regarding use of force.
