Contrary to an Explore Minnesota report citing reduced tourism figures in southern Minnesota, area travel experts say summer tourism was hot and there's no signs of it relenting this fall. 'There's no disputing the numbers are really, really strong this year,' said Ed Lee, director of the St. Peter Chamber of Commerce. 'It's a cool place to live, work and visit. It's kind of a cliché, but it's just a feeling everybody gets here in St. Peter that makes them want to come back.' According to the recent Explore Minnesota survey, across the five Minnesota regions, 42% to 51% of businesses reported summer 2023 revenue higher relative to 2022.
