Minnesota State Mankato Announces Fall 2023 Geography Colloquium September 13, 2023 | Featured Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato's longest-running speaker series, the Geography Colloquium, is holding 10 events on most Friday afternoons this fall, beginning Friday, Sept. 15 and continuing through Friday, Dec. 1. The events are held from 3-4:15 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Geography has been in the institution's curriculum since its founding in 1868. The Colloquium was begun in the 1890s by lead geography instructor, Miss Defransa Swann, who brought in occasional guest presenters.
